Why Flexible Work Hours Are Better For Productivity

In the past decades, working for long hours has been the common practice.  However, the standard work schedule has been affecting people's productivity and happiness.  To motivate employees, companies have found a solution by implementing flexible hours that allow them to work without feeling confined in their workplace.   Let me share with you why this new setup is better for employees:

It will enable employees to achieve work-life balance

Spending many hours in the office can be stressful.  It can also hinder a person to spend time focusing on what matters most.  Less time at work could mean more time to recharge and pursue things that could bring back a person's zest for life.

Better mental and physical health

We've all heard that work-related stress can trigger mental illnesses.  However, lack of physical activity because of long hours of sitting and doing the same thing in the office can actually make a person prone to heart disease and weak circulation.  Having flexible work hours gives people the opportunity to provide more time to their overall health and fitness.  In turn, they'll have more strength to excel in their daily tasks. 

It makes them feel more valuable than their output

Allowing employees to spend less time in the office can be considered a simple reward especially for those who have shown their loyalty for many years.  This benefit shows them that the company values their well-being and their individuality more than the work they produce.  Aside from boosting their morale, it encourages them to give their best while they are at work.
